SUMMARY OF THE ALCHEMIST
PART 1
This story is about a Sheppard boy named Santiago. He lived in Andalucia, Spain and used to feed sheep. Once, while grazing his sheeps, he reached a place where he met a beautiful girl who used to come buy wool.
Santiago liked that girl very much and like every time this year too, he was thinking of going back to the same place in the hope of meeting that girl. He used to roam with his sheep in Spain's hinterland area where there was no shortage of grass and water.
The boys family wanted him to become a priest but that boy was very fond of travelling so he became a shepherd so that he could always roam around with his sheeps.
Once he had the same dream twice when he was sleeping in a broken room in church where a big tree had grown . then he went to meet the mystic lady in the town name the Taarifa, which used to say meaning of dreams.
So that gypsy woman told that boy's dream meaning that he should go to the Pyramid of Egypt where he will find the treasure.and when he get the treasure, then he give the 10th part of it to the gypsy lady as a free. but that boy didn't pay much attention to this and started walking in the town. then he got an old man at the first, Santiago had no interest in talk to him, but that old man wizard impressed him and they both started talking.
That old man told that he is the king of Salem he also helped Santiago to reach his dream. He also told Santiago that he often help people in some way to reach their destination now that Santiago had given up before reaching his destination, he came to him to show him the right path.
The old man told him that life always give us some sign or clue so that we can choose the right direction.then he told Santiago that he would have to pay the tenth part of his sheeps as a fee for the remaining guidance lesson. The next day Santiago meet the old man at the fixed time who gave him two stones one of them was stone black and other was white
The old man to Santiago that if he ever had any confusion in search of his destination, he could take his decision with the help of these two stones.He also advise him that if he sees a good omen then take care who will help him wto reach his destination. Then suddenly a butterfly flew over the face of Santiago, which was a good omen.
and then the same day the boy reached a place called tangier of Africa. He was sitting there at the time a man came to him. The man asking him in a Spanish what he had come to do in this new place. Now it was another omen for that boy. Santiago told him that he had to go the pyramids and if the man made a guide and took him to the place he would give him money.
the men took money from Santiago and disappeared in the busy market Santiago keep looking at him. He was very sad and then suddenly he remember those two stones when he took those two stone out of his pockets hi remember the old man.That old man said "if you want something from the heart then all the universe helps him to meet you."
seeing these two stones, Santiago felt as if the old man was with him like a spirit and was inspiring him to move forward in search of treasure. Despite losing his money, Santiago didn't have up and somehow managed to survive in the strange city with his shipyard experienced now his self confidence and belief become very stronger.
Then he got crystal seller. Santiago told crystal seller that if he could feed him, he could do some of his work in return. The shopkeeper gave him lunch and then ask him to clean the glass items kept in his shop while he was cleaning the classware, two customers came to the shop at the same time and bought some goods. That shop owner also used to live in a omen , hhe hired Santiago forever.
