             Founder of Playboy Enterprises, Inc. and Editor-in-Chief and Chief Creative Officer of Playboy Magazine Hugh Marston Hefner  . Playboy founded by Hugh Hefner in 1953 , has been a men's lifestyle and entertainment magazine , which has profoundly influenced society for the last 62 years  Since it's first issue  in 1953 , it remains the world's best selling men's lifestyle magazine and also the most recognizable brand in the history.

          Before starting his work on the playboy magazine Hefner was a copy writer at Esquire at $60 a week. When Esquire moved it's office to New York Hefner request for a five-dollar raise was denied and he it's then he decided to stay behind and start a magazine of his own.
Hefner raised $8,000 from friends and family to invest in his venture, including $1,000 from his mother a        $600 of his own money borrowed from a bank using his apartment furniture as collateral.
          The first issue of the magazine came in Dec of 1953 which center fold around the nudity of Marilyn monroe, the magazine issue was undated as Hefner was unsure if he would be able to publish the second issue , Hefner's efforts in the marketing made this a hugh success with selling nearly 50,000 copies. Enough to pay for the paper and printing costs and to finance another issue. Thereafter, Hefner never doubted to be this a hugh success.

          Throught the sixtess Hugh became the most influential man as the magazine became the largest-selling and also being the most influential men’s magazine in the world.At the start of the new decade, he hosted the television show Playboy’s Penthouse , purchased the Playboy Mansion at 1340 North State Parkway on Chicago’s Gold Coast , and opened the first Playboy Club in Chicago.
           By 1971, the magazine was selling over seven million copies a month, there were 23 Playboy clubs, resorts, hotels and casinos with more than 900,000 members worldwide. In the same year, he established a second residence in Los Angeles with the acquisition of Playboy Mansion West which later on became his permanent residence.

 
         Hefner used his magazine and media presence to express a philosophy of equality years ahead of its time! But didn't expect lots of naked Playboy Bunnies .Over the years a lot of hot, nude women have graced the pages of Playboy. The Playboy cover pages and pages was full-on addicted to celebrities. And in the absence of celebrities, the magazine would run celebrity relatives, former celebrities, girls who looked like celebrities, girls who'd slept with celebrities and, of course, Playboy models who had themselves achieved some level of celebrity.
         The magzine had started to pictorize the playmate of the month on the cover pages, being on the cover pages was hugh as it would bring the playmate a lot of fame. The PMOTM (playmate of the month)  was selected by Hefner himself and his team at some periods, it meant that the playmate has to impress Hefner at her best.
         The PMOTM mostly ages between 18 to 25. And among the PMOTM there's also playmate of the year, you can vote for the PMOTY visiting the their twitter handle or site.Bo Derek, Barbara Carrera, and Kim Basinger were some of the earliest examples of celebrities who decided to do Playboy.The brunette beauty sherlyn chopra is the first-ever Indian model to pose for the pages of PLAYBOY

The playboy has now decided not to picturize nude photo's in it's magazine  ,

1) this step was taken because of  the amount of nude contents available on the world wide web and also

 2) to sow it's seeds on the markets of india and china.

         You may have read about the selling of playboy mansion, but Hugh Hefner still owns the Playboy Mansion, but he recently sold his personal residence next door. The new owner is Daren Metropoulos, an entrepreneur in his 20s. The 7,300 sq. ft., 5 bedroom house was built in 1929 and sits on a 2.3 acre site.Selling price was reportedly $17 million USD.

         Recently a playmate has published a book revealing what happens behind the secret walls of the mansion .Many of the recent playmates and girlfriends of hugh hefner said that the mansion is no longer as expected hefner is old and now prefers old man's chores and never leaves his room without nurses and  also has no fun .
